Children and Adolescents

Being a 21st Century kid is challenging. There are many competing demands, including school, social life, extracurricular activities, and familial stressors. Children have greater access to the internet, which means more information and exposure to mature and often anxiety provoking content. Just like it’s important to attend to our physical health through a yearly checkup, it’s also important to pay attention to our emotional well-being. From preventative care to navigating complex developmental challenges, our child and adolescent psychologists are adept at communicating with and connecting with kids.

When working with children and adolescents we take a multisystemic approach, meaning we take into consideration the many important social systems that could be contributing to a child’s mental health. If warranted and with parental permission, we collaborate with school personnel, pediatricians, and other important members of your child’s community. In our experience, often a combination of working with both the child and parents leads to the most effective results. In collaboration with parents and child, our providers will create a tailored treatment plan for your family that will best address the needs and concerns that bring your child to therapy.

Our providers have training in School Psychology and years of experience working in schools and with school-aged children. We are well suited and skilled in collaborating with school personnel and implementing strong interventions that work in the classroom setting. Through school observations and teacher consultation meetings we create an integrated team to support a child who might be struggling in class or at school.
